Why is Propel Replays requesting write_app_proxy permission?

Shopify has a feature called "app proxies" that lets us create and point a URL like https://your-store.myshopify.com/apps/propel-replays to our server.

From the browser perspective, this makes it look like Propel Replays and your Shopify store are all coming from the same domain name. This helps with various things from security to page speed.

Previously, Shopify allowed all apps to do this without requesting permission from merchants.

Starting in Nov 2025, Shopify will require apps to ask permission first, and existing proxy URLs will cease to function if the store's merchant hasn't granted permission.

We're requesting this permission now so all merchants will have granted it before November, and there won't be issues with the app ceasing to function on some stores come November.
