Why do some of my replays appear zoomed in or show the page width changing during playback?
Rest assured that visitors to your site are not seeing this.
Propel Replays works by creating a copy of your website's code and playing back changes made to that code as the visitor browses your site. This requires much less bandwidth than a full video.
The page briefly widening is caused by elements on the page briefly exceeding the width of the page or going outside the page boundaries. When Propel's recording library detects this, it recomputes the width of the page to include elements extending beyond the old page boundaries, and this appears in the replay as the page becoming wider.
Elements on page that can cause this behavior include image galleries and sliders.
Unfortunately we don't have a way to prevent this yet in the replays, but rest assured that this is only visible when viewing replays. Your visitors are not experiencing this.
